XLeague.TV partners with EVS

by Jan Harris

EVS, the broadcast solution provider, has entered into an alliance with XLeague.TV, the first British TV channel dedicated to competitive gaming.

XLeague.TV, which was launched on Sky Channel 279 in May, will be the first channel in the UK to operate EVS’s cutting-edge production technology within a next generation gaming environment.

XLeague.TV provides a series of online video-gaming competitions and programming focused on eSports.

XLeague.TV is the only dedicated eSports channel in the UK. It broadcasts a series of live, online video-gaming competitions, organised in a continuous online league. It also provides programming focused on eSports including commentary, analysis, news and reviews.

XLeague.TV’s flagship show, ‘The Match’, features leading video-gamers competing live for cash prizes, with analysis and instant replays.

EVS technology was chosen as the system best able to cope with the demands of live production.

An EVS XT 6-channel XT[2] server will enable a variety of live and live feeds to be made instantly accessible to the EVS Multicam LSM application. This will allow ultra-fast editing and output of slow motion action and highlights sequences.

Xleague.TV is part of Portland TV, the broadcasting division of Northern & Shell which includes The Daily & Sunday Star and The Daily & Sunday Express newspapers.
