BT to launch video on demand IPTV
Let’s try this again.
After the customer relations disaster that befell Carphone Warehouse when it launched its ‘free’ broadband, BT Group is set to launch an internet television service of its own.
BT Vision will be offered in a steady rollout in order to circumvent the problems that have plagued others. Users will purchase the BT Group set top box, but there will be no monthly subscription. Instead, users will simply pay for what ever archived film or programs they chose to view.
BT Group, one of the world’s leaders in communications solutions and one of the UK’s leading telecom carriers, has been working hard to maintain its customer base. With the offer of ‘free’ broadband from other providers, BT Group has been looking for ways to reduce the number of customers that would abandon them. BT Vision is one of several services that they are launching to entice customers to stay.
The announcement of deals with content companies like Disney recently tends to hedge the lead in favor of BT Group. With more announcements likely to be revealed in the near future, and with customer satisfaction strong on their mind, BT Group will likely maintain their strong hold in the communication industry.
The cost of the BT Group set top boxes was to be revealed this Monday. The boxes are designed to hold up to 80 hours of programming.
