Live Video Streaming on your Mobile
For someone who has ever wanted to show a live picture to someone else over a mobile phone, this would be great, but the technology is not quite up to it. But AT&T are looking into way of doing this, imagine sending over out a live video stream from a mobile phone!
The potential for this, is totally desirable by business and consumers. Business would be able to show callers the products that they are calling about, say you call a car dealer, he could show you around the car via the mobile phone. This will save time and wasted journeys. The same goes for consumers, a live stream from a child’s birthday party, or maybe a live video of a wedding, the possibilities are literally endless.
It would appear that with AT&T all of these and much more are possible with AT&T Video Share. This is available in 160 markets and is the first service of its kind in the US to allow the callers to show a live video via their mobile phone and while on a voice call, this is very impressive.
But this is just the beginning, around the corner is to enable this to use the IPTV service, which will allow the user to send the video stream over the internet to a PC or Laptop, once this has been fully tested and rolled out then the possibilities are literally endless. In fact there could be a whole new line businesses that start up, just around this technology alone.
Even at the moment the even though the call may be two way, the video stream can only be one way, however it does not have to stay one way, it can be swapped around. So although the video stream is one way both parties can take turns in using it within the same call.
AT&T explain:
AT&T research has shown strong customer interest in Video Share for a range of uses, including:
Sharing. Consumers can share moments with family and friends as the moments happen.
Providing a Sense of “Being There.” Consumers or business contacts can be in one place while seeing and hearing what is happening in another.
Getting/Giving Advice. Consumers or business contacts can seek advice by sharing video and audio, as the need arises.
AT&T Video Share can be viewed at most of the company’s retail stores or on line at http://www.attvideoshare.com where an interactive demo can be found, along with more information.
