Shenick’s diversifEye Checks Customer Video Quality

by Alan Harten

SeaChange International has certified Shenick Network Systems’ diversifEye per-flow architecture as the only test product to emulate and measure each individual video-on-demand (VoD) client behind residential gateways.

The system allows cable operators to see what the customer sees and ensure the quality of transmissions on SeaChange’s Axiom On Demand open content delivery platform, which is a set top box simulator for VoD streaming, so they can test the functions of control plane and media plane architecture.

They can even “watch” the content being received by thousands of users at 10 Gigabit Ethernet levels.

They can also take a look at individual flows to check on a single customers viewing quality on a highly granular basis.

diversifEye can technically compare the original source media and what the customer is actually seeing on screen with Active analysis.

Passive analysis looks at real time video streams and checks quality of the video stream.
