Miniweb Finds £17 million Under Company Sofa

by Alan Harten

Miniweb, an Interactive Service Provider, works in the area of enabling targeted, web-style advertising and interactivity on TV.

They have announced that they have just managed to secure a very healthy US$32 million, or around £17 million.

Miniweb converges broadcast and broadband entertainment; basically it makes a TV act more like a computer, and offers a more personalised selection of entertainment on customers’ TVs.

With the ever expanding broadband availability and the line between TV and PC becoming ever more blurred, the company feels that they are in a good position to exploit this consumer need and explore new markets across the world.

At the end of the line they are already responsible for over 9 million interactive TV viewers.

It is clear that some people with cash burning a hole in their pockets agree that they have a good future.

To enable their expansion plans to become a reality, the company managed to find funding through US Company’s Meritage Funds in Denver, Colorado and DeGeorge Holdings III, Nevada.

As well as satisfying the temperamental viewers needs they also assist TV network operators by helping to increase ARPU and obtain a larger slice of the revenue share from broadcaster and advertiser interactive services.

Advertisers also find help in the form of web site like advertising transmitted over TV.
