Substantial order secured by Tilgen for IPTV launch
Tilgen has secured an initial order from one of its global partners to assist it in its end-to-end IPTV delivery to a leading tier one operator in Southern Europe.
Swedish company Tilgin, is a provider of customer premises equipment solutions for multi-play and next-generation broadband services. The order is for 1700 units of its Mood 400 HDTV set-top box solution for IPTV.
The set-top boxes are intended for the operator’s IPTV service soft launch in September this year and enhances Tilgin’s position as an important partner in several significant operators’ ongoing IPTV launches in Europe.
Tilgin’s IPTV offering allows the European operator to implement a future proof solution for the initial SD based services to its residential broadband customers, supporting HD services as they are launched and thereby eliminating any cost of replacement.
Tilgin will help the operator grow its IPTV offering to something much more than just a television service, integrating communications and multi-device media sharing into their expanded portfolio of compelling new multimedia services.
Supporting the full convergence of voice, video and data, Tilgin takes a network systems approach to customer premises equipment that enables providers to offer a broad portfolio of personalised and differentiated next-generation broadband services.
