China Telecom and UT Starcom create new IPTV network
UT Starcoms Rolling Stream will be the IPTV solution that China Telecom to develop in partnership with UT Starcoms the new commercial IPTV network which will be initially based in the region of China know as Ningxia Hui.
From the start the network will we looking at a capacity of around 10,000 subscribers, which is a good enough user base to start with.
The services offered will be 52 live broadcast television channels, 3,000 hours of video on demand content, 48 hour time shifting capability, along with some very special services designed to make optimum income by providing value added services.
These include on-line gaming, karaoke, sms through the TV, and some other interactive services, this is made possible through the UT Starcom Rolling Stream solution solution from streaming servers to the set top boxes in customers homes.
UT Starcom’s Rolling Stream is one of the more widely deployed in China, and already have over 270,000 live subscribers to date.
