Macrovision and tvCompass in new Agreement
Macrovision Solutions Corporation and tvCompass, digital media solutions provider for the home broadband market, have jointly announced that they have agreed to a patent license aimed at supporting tvCompass’s Wi-Fi handheld devices as well as its click365(SM) wireless content network.
The agreement is set to last for several years and will also include a license under Macrovision’s IPG, or, interactive program guide patent, this will also allow the tvCompass click365 content network to be integrated into Macrovision’s TV listing data giving tvCompass access to the TV Guide brand for its IPG application.
The advantage for tvCompass would be to offer clients a new option for controlling their home theatre set-up as well as delivering wireless internet into a range of handheld devices.
It will enable one-touch access to TV listings, sports content and other options.
It is expected that the first option available under the new deal will be an internet-connected Wi-Fi device that will combine home theatre control and one-touch real-time access to sports, team information, standings, and also news.

tvCompass Inc. offers a technology platform to assist in branding by consumer electronic product companies, content distributors, satellite, OEMs cable and IPTV operators.
By use of its click365(SM) interactive wireless content network, users can access electronic program guides as well as Internet content and other interactive applications.
