Orca to enter US IPTV market

by David Masters

Israel based Orca Interactive have entered the US IPTV market with WT Services. The alliance will provide WT with integrated, carrier made IPTV services like live TV, pay per view and video on demand. Orca will also be opening up a US office, their first outside of Israel.

WT will be able to offer advanced new IPTV services by using Orca’s RiGHTv Middleware, which means that they can provide Caller ID over TV which will enable such services like incoming calls on TV screens and an Emergency Alert System this is an advanced warning system for direct and immediate alerts regarding critical events in the location. Partners include: Trilithic the Emergency Alert System provider, Quintrex, the billing and CRM solution provider, Metaswitch, the softswitch supplier and Tribune Media Services, the EPG data provider for a complete end-to-end IPTV solution.

It is hoped that by partnerships developing like this, it will mean that more competition will be on the cards which should benefit everyone.
