Amino launches digital HD IPTV STB
Cambridge-based Amino Communications launched the first 100% digital HD IPTV set-top-box (STB) at the NXTcomm conference in Las Vegas this week.
The AmiNET130M STB is cheaper and simpler to install than other HD IPTV STB, and its compact design and sleek, black casing will complement most home decor.
It is designed for use with HD-ready flatscreens, complementing the AmiNET130 STB which is designed to connect to traditional TV sets.
The launch of Amino’s new product means that service providers can now offer end-to-end digital HD TV, as a multicast or on-demand multi-room video experience, to all their customers, even those with low bandwith broadband connections.
The AmiNET130M STB supports HD video and HD graphics for improved viewing realism and detail, and greater diversity of content.
It gives operators the opportunity to benefit from new income streams such as weather forecasts, stock quotes, or targeted advertising, while reducing costs.
AmiNET IPTV STBs are used by telecommunications, broadcast and hospitality service operators worldwide.
