Sigma’s IPTV Media Processor
The Sigma Designs demonstration given at this week’s NAB show, showed the power of the new SMP8654 by running the Microsoft Mediaroom client in a side by side showing.
The SMP8654 media processor SoC, includes a 50% increase in performance and still reducing sub-system costs by around 30 percent compared to the SMP8634.
It also comes with a wealth of software which allows the Microsoft Mediaroom™ Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and multimedia platform to operate on next-generation set-top boxes.
Two years of collaboration between Sigma, and Microsoft have made these solutions happen.
