IPTV World Forum attracts industry-leading speakers

The inaugural IPTV World Forum Middle East & Africa event has attracted speakers from some of the most prestigious operators in the Middle East & Africa region - the fastest growing broadband market in the world.
The event is part of the IPTV World Series, produced by Junction, a Bristol-based company which specialises in networking events, conferences and exhibitions for the digital technology sector.
The Forum will bring together leading specialists in the IPTV sector, including service providers, telcos, technology vendors, broadcasters and systems integrators.
Discussions will be held on recent and imminent deployments by Qatari telco Qtel, UAE telco du, Telkom Media South Africa, Mauritius Telecom and Turk Telecom, led by the companies’ senior managers.
Telcos which have successfully deployed IPTV services further afield will also be represented, with speakers including:
• Alessandro Petazzi, Director of IPTV Marketing & Content for Italian telco FASTWEB,
• Ted Hsiung, Head of Business Development, International Projects for Hong Kong telco PCCW, and
• Benjamin Schwarz, VP Business Development for WITBE.net .
The event will cover a range of issues relevant to the rapidly expanding, global IPTV industry, including such topics as the potential role of ‘over-the-top’ Internet TV in IPTV services provided over a managed network, and the potential for a truly cross platform, ‘3 screens’ service.
A free exhibition will include innovations by regional IPTV industry market leaders.
The rapidly expanding Middle East and Africa regions is expected to provide significant growth opportunities across the telecoms sector in the next five years.
The IPTV World Forum event provides the opportunity to network with leaders in the sector and with high-profile attendees of other events in the IPTV World Series.
The event takes place in Dubai, 5-7 November 2007. Further information is available at www.iptv-mea.com
