Joost supports Community Channel
Joost has signed the Community Channel’s declaration of support, adding its name to other major broadcasters in the UK. The Channel is the only TV station dedicated to promoting issues from local and international communities, and from the voluntary and charitable sectors.
The Joint Declaration was agreed in 2004, initially between The BBC and Sky. Since then Channel 4, Five, ITV, ITN, Discovery, Flextech, GMTV, PACT, MTV, BT Vision, Disney and Turner have all added their names.
Boadcasters who sign the declaration promise to promote the Community Channel whenever it is editorially relevant.
The companies have also agreed a content deal allowing the Community Channel’s content to be launched on Joost’s online TV platform.
Content on the channel includes Summit about the Boy, Giving Nation TV Challenge, Together We Can, Louie, Me and Hepatitis C, No Limits and Charge.
The Community Channel is broadcast 24/7 on Sky 539, Virgin TV 233 and from 6-9am on Freeview 87.
