HD Programming Available To Hotels Worldwide
The announcement was made today by the CEOs of Swisscom Hospitality Services and Tangerine Global, Leo Brand and Stuart Levin, that the two companies will be collaborating to bring premium high definition programming to hotel rooms throughout North America, Europe and the Middle East.
Swisscome is a known leader in providing broadband based internet solutions for companies and businesses in the hospitality industry, and Tangerine is a renowned provider of high-definition television programming for hotels worldwide.
This new collaboration will see the first implementation of Swisscom’s newly developed HD video over IPTV solution, and the company intends to use the already established programming offered by Tangerine as their content base.
Swisscom systems are currently in use in over 2,000 businesses, and 210,000 hotel rooms.
During the announcement of the partnership, Brand stated that Swisscom is able to offer a highly personalised experience for hotel guests, through using the luxury programming on offer via Tangerine.
Lenvin spoke about the move towards a more comprehensive entertainment approach that hotels were now implementing, and how Tangerine has been at the forefront of the move.
More and more companies in the hospitality industry have been noted for shifting to URL based delivery solutions, which has meant a dramatic change in the usual in-house television content.
Tangerine will be the first company to implement HD programming in Hong Kong, and in conjunction with Swisscom there are already trials in some Mandarin Oriental and Peninsula hotels of the new HD programming.
