Accedo launches multiplayer gaming engine for IPTV

by Jan Harris

Accedo Broadband, a leading content aggregator and distributor for IPTV and consumer electronics, is launching a new multiplayer gaming engine for IPTV at the IBC 2007 (International Broadcasting Convention) in Amsterdam, September 6-11.

The new multiplayer gaming engine enables interaction between users, both within a network and between different operators’ networks and countries.

It uses IP technology to extend multiplayer gaming from PCs and consoles to TV audiences.

Michael Lantz, CEO of Accedo Broadband, believes that the Multiplayer Gaming Engine will build on the popularity of casual gaming on TV, rapidly accelerating the usage of TV as a gaming environment.

The multiplayer gaming engine will be demonstrated at the Accedo Broadband stand during IBC 2007 - #126 in the IPTV Zone.

Accedo Broadband is a privately held company with offices in London, Stockholm and San Francisco.
