Amino completes MPEGIF logo qualification program

by Jan Harris

Cambridge-based IPTV set-top-box (STB) manufacturer, Amino Communications, has successfully completed the Premium Conformance Tier of the MPEGIF Logo Qualification Program.

At the NAB Show in Las Vegas it was announced that Amino’s AmiNET130 and AmiNET530 STBs are first HD H.264 IPTV and HD H.264 DVR STBs in the world to meet the program requirements.

MPEGIF aims to promote the adoption and deployment of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 as the industry’s standard video compression technology for next generation television and content delivery and consumption applications.

The AmiNET130 supports High Definition, H.264 (MPEG4/AVC) video streams and provides a cost-effective solution for delivering HDTV as multicast, on-demand video and multi-room IPTV services.

As well as PVR functionality, the AmiNET530 STB offers low-cost deployment, advanced video codecs and the support of HD video and graphics.

Amino’s AmiNET range helps reduce capital expenditure for service operators, without compromising the level of functionality offered.

Amino’s AmiNET IPTV STBs are used commercially in over 80 countries.
