Brightcove launches London office
Brightcove Inc, the IPTV provider, is expanding into the UK with the launch of a London office. The move, part of a larger expansion in Europe, will help the company increase its audience and develop new revenues using online video content.
Brightcove was a pioneer in the development of Internet TV. It helps video producers and programmers to develop broadband businesses while giving viewers more choices and control over their use of video and television.
The Brightcove Internet TV platform is used by many of the largest media and marketing brands in the world as well as thousands of emerging broadband media companies.
IN the UK, the company’s clients include BSkyB, Emap and Sony BMG UK. Brightcove has also announced two new UK clients; the publisher Hachette Filipacchi Media UK and BET Networks.
Working with companies such as Heat Magazine, Brightcove enables celebrity, fashion and lifestyle news to be quickly disseminated. The service keeps the magazine’s readers up-to-date in a tremendously fast-paced market.
Brightcove has raised $82 million from investors, including AOL/Time Warner, IAC/InterActiveCorp, The New York Times Company and The Hearst Corporation, and this will help fund the company’s investment in Europe.
