New satellite capacity into Brazil from Intelsat
The IS 10-02 satellite from Intelsat has been authorised for the provision of satellite capacity to Brazil. The Intelsat 10-02 spacecraft will join the other 13 satellites within Intelsat’s global fleet serving Brazil.
The EADS Astrium-built Intelsat 10-02, which was launched in 2004, has been providing a full range of services on its C- and Ku-band transponders, with coverage of Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East from its 359 degrees East orbital location.
Intelsat was the first satellite operator to establish a satellite-enabled communications infrastructure in Brazil, providing capacity for the delivery of video, network and voice services to its diverse regions.
Through Intelsat, Internet trunking began bridging Brazil’s digital divide; international programming reached Brazilian audiences; and, telephony services connected Brazil’s most remote regions to large urban centres. The IS 10-02 provides a specifically optimised transmission channel for people seeking to grow their business in Brazil.
Intelsat is the leading provider of fixed satellite services worldwide, delivering advanced transmission access for information and entertainment to many of the world’s leading media and network companies, multinational corporations, Internet service providers and governmental agencies.
