Turner Saves IPTV

Some people are just dedicated to IPTV. Rick Turner is employed to make sure that people get their television fix. Last week, Mr. Turner went above and beyond the call of duty for that guarantee.

Mr. Turner, who has worked for five years as a transmitter engineer for IPTV, got the call last week that a transmitter outside of Sioux City had been knocked out. Normally, this would be no problem, but the city was in the midst of a snow storm. There were 2-foot drifts blocking the drive way.

Determined to fix the IPTV situation, Mr. Turner and his son cleared to driveway. First they used the snow blower until it died. Then they turned to sweat equity and dug a way out.

With snow covering the roadways, Mr. Turner contacted some people that lived near the IPTV transmitter. The residents there were awaiting snow plows. He followed the plows much of the way. At the end of the drive leading to the IPTV transmitter, Mr. Turner hit a 4 foot snow drift. He walked the rest of the way.

With in just 60 minutes, Mr. Turner had the IPTV transmitter up and running again. For his efforts, he was snowed in for 34 hours before arrangements could be made to dig him out.

What was airing over the IPTV during the ordeal? BBCâ€™s â€œAre You Being Served.â€ For Sioux City citizens the answer was a definite yes.
