Orange partners with MGM for VOD service
Orange has extended its “24/24 Video” service through a partnership with US studio, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).
Orange has secured a multi-year agreement with the studio to offer films on demand from MGM’s catalogue. Over 3,000 films and 6,000 TV programmes will be available from MGM, priced from €1 a film for 24hrs rental with unlimited viewing.
The service will be available to subscribers to Orange’s broadband digital television package, or broadband internet package, in France, Spain, Poland and the UK.
MGM’s catalogue includes films such as Casino Royale, Some Like It Hot, Annie Hall, Silence of the Lambs, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Rocky and Platoon.
Orange recorded a decline in profits last month, in the fact of stiff competition from rivals, including O2, Vodafone and T-Mobile.
Orange has replaced chief executive, Bernard Ghillebaert. The post is now held by the founder of Virgin Mobile, Tom Alexander.
