Orange TV identity unveiled
Mobile phone provider, Orange, has unveiled the on-air identity for its Orange, TV service, due for launch this year. The service will be provided via a set-top box plugged into a television and broadband connection.
The design includes a series of animated characters, created by Red Bee Media, including a roadie, a ‘TV lover’ and a ‘clapper-loader’. The characters will guide viewers through different parts of the platform and promote services.
The characters will feature in 44 scenarios acted out on an orange stage in a black space, and will also feature on menu boards. The orange button on the remote control will take viewers through to the on-demand service.
Orange wants the characters to reflect the fun, warm and engaging nature of the service. The company aims to bring the simplicty of the Orange brand to digital TV.
Orange TV, which will include films, sport, entertainment and music tracks, will complement Oranges’s existing mobile and broadband identities. It will also include digital terrestrial TV channels, seven-day catch-up TV and video-on-demand.
