New Suite Makes Integration Easier
Kasenna Incorporated announced today that it would be expanding its IPTV services. PortalTV 2.0 is a suite of integrated products that has a user interface and a Web services architecture designed to integrate the Internet and television.
PortalTV 2.0 is being offered by Kasenna India, the Indian branch of Kasenna Incorporated. Kasenna has been taking a leadership position in helping IPTV service providers. It wants to make it easier for providers to offer feature-rich interactive TV services and to have a platform for marketing news services as they become available.
Kasenna India developed the PortalTV 2.0 suite with these needs in mind. It will assist service providers in reducing capital and operating expenditures there by increasing revenues. This is accomplished because there are no proprietary integrations to work around. PortalTV 2.0 weds the standard server hardware with the operating system of each providers choosing.
The suite is made up of KasennaLiving Room 2.0 (IPTV middleware), LivingRoom Smart Client 2.0.1 (IPTV STB Client), MediaBase 8.2 (the video delivery platform), vFusion 1.3 (video network management system), and content from ViewNow – another Kasenna company.
The future of IPTV lies in providers making programming come alive with interactive features such as gaming, quizzes or voting options, and easy access for gathering more information on a product or service during the viewing process.
