Amino Communications acquires AssetHouse
Cambridge-based Amino Communications, the IPTV set-top-box (STB) specialist, has acquired AssetHouse Technologies as part of a strategy to expand its range of IPTV technologies.
AssetHouse is an on-demand entertainment services provider which counts BT Vision as its main client.
Amino Communications’ AmiNET series of IPTV STBs are sold worldwide, and the deal with AssetHouse will give Amino access to the emerging online video services market.
The deal will see AssetHouse’s AssetFactory software deployed to content providers, enhancing their ability to sell differentiated content products, promotions, packages and price plans.
Amino has also announced the appointment of a new chief executive, namely Andrew Burke, who was formerly the chief executive of BT Entertainment.
