Orange outlines plans for UK IPTV service
Tim Pearson, Director of Digital TV for Orange UK will be speaking at the IPTV World Forum at Olympia, London, 12-14 March.
In an interview with IPTV News - www.iptv-news.com - he outlined Orange’s plans for launching its IPTV service in the UK.
Orange, which is owned by France Telecom, has already launched IPTV in European countries such as France and Spain, and plans to launch Orange TV in the UK this year. Orange TV already has 1.4mn customers in Europe.
Orange’s Digital TV service aims to provide UK customers with the flexibility and control of the Internet on their living room TV.
The service will provide a variety of content and channels, including free-to-air channels such as the BBC’s Film 4, and also dedicated video on demand film and TV libraries, with content from Walt Disney and MGM.
Orange’s Digital TV is already being trialled by existing paying broadband customers and full UK rollout is planned for later this year.
