Accedo and Sonaecom in IPTV gaming deal
Accedo Broadband, a content aggregator and distributor for IPTV and consumer electronics, has secured a contract with Clix SmarTV.
Accedo’s interactive ‘Funspot’ gaming applications will be included on the Clix SmarTV IPTV service in Portugal, which is supplied by Sonaecom.
The Funspot portfolio includes casino, card, and board games, quizzes and puzzles.
Clix SmarTV, which is the first commercial IPTV service in Portugal, comprises 100 national and international digital channels. Viewers can also sign up for further premium content.
João Mendes Pedro of Sonaecom commended Accedo for its focus on IPTV, its flexible approach and its comprehensive portfolio of games.
Michael Lantz, Accedo Broadband’s CEO said: “IPTV opens up new opportunities for interactive content, such as gaming. Casual gaming on the TV has proven to be an excellent light entertainment service, and it is our firm belief that usage will grow considerably over the next few years, in Portugal and elsewhere.”
Accedo Broadband has offices in Stockholm and London.
