Tiscali and Disney sign IPTV deal
Tiscali TV, which was formerly known as Homechoice, and the Disney Channel have entered into an agreement for Disney to supply its Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney and Disney Cinemagic channels to Tiscali TV subscribers.
The Disney Channel and pre-school channel Playhouse Disney, will be made available as part of Tiscali TV’s Kids Pack. Disney Cinemagic will be a stand alone premium subscription channel on Tiscali’s service.
The Playhouse Disney channel offers series such as My Friends Tigger & Pooh, while Disney Cinemagic offers animated films such as The Incredibles and Chicken Little.
The three channels will be available from June 2007.
Tiscali TV, which was launched in March, is currently available to households in London, Stevenage, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Newcastle. The service will soon be rolled out to Leeds, Sheffield and Liverpool, making it available to ten million UK households by the end of the year.
Tiscali is also planning launch a new set top box in July, with a 160Gb, hi-definition enabled, personal video recorder.
