VirtualLogix™ Expands Real-Time Virtualization Solution
VirtualLogix™, Inc., announced VLX for Network Infrastructure supporting Intel® CoreTM Microarchitecture, version 3.0, which will blend Microsoft Windows® with capabilities of real-time operating systems or Linux, simply by applying real-time virtualization technology.
With VLX for Network Infrastructure v3.0, equipment manufacturers can develop next generation products, with shorter lead times, and lower costs.
VoIP and IPTV and enterprise communication applications have not yet benefited from the traditional virtualization, due to operational performance they require, something VirtualLogix’s virtualization technology can change.
New VLX for Network Infrastructure v3.0 features include:
• Real-time Virtualization for Windows® environments – allows a combination of guest operating systems including Linux, real-time OS and Windows® to run while keeping the real-time performance characteristics of their overall system.
• Native Windows® SMP support – provides the ability to run native BIOS and native Windows® SMP as virtual guests in the real-time VLX environment, enabling shared memory access across virtualized guests in addition to the use of emulated Ethernet ports.
• Consolidation of hardware platforms – enables developers to consolidate Windows and mission-critical environments onto a single hardware platform, reducing system complexity and product bill-of-material costs.
