Sarnoff Launches New Digital Test Pattern at NAB Show

Sarnoff Corporation’s Digital Test Pattern will be showcased at the Association of Broadcasters show, April 14-17, a tool enabling accurate evaluation and calibration of television equipment.

The features available mean that the product is ideal for broadcasters, service providers, encoder manufacturers, post-production houses, certification laboratories and more.

The Sarnoff Digital Test Pattern tests:

• Compression Fidelity
• Lip-sync
• Format Conversion
• Color Matrix Mismatch
• Chroma Sub-sampling
• Frequency Response
• Field Reversal
• Highlight Clipping
• Bit Depth
• Skin Tones
• Linearity
• Gamma

Supported formats include:

• A/V sequence on digital media
• HDTV, SD, Mobile and D-Cinema resolutions
• 8, 10, 12 bit Y’CbCr, R’G’B’, X’Y’Z’ Customizable
• Target platforms include:
• Terrestrial, Satellite, Cable, IPTV and Mobile Broadcast
• Digital Cinema and Post Production
• Automated Test Equipment
