On Call Communications Debuts $10 Per Minute HD Satellite News Gathering

by Grant Draper

The QuickSPOTTM High Definition IP Satellite News Gathering system will be debuted at the Broadcasters show in LA, April 14-17. The new integrated hardware is set to implement tremendous cost savings compared with the usual, HD satellite transmissions.

Flexible service plans are available on a billed per minute or pre scheduled, cheaper option, from only $10 per minute.

The Envivio HD30 system provides adequate components to delivery HD feeds at rates similar to current MPEG-2 based SD services. The low latency of 300 milliseconds over DVB-ASI interfaces makes the KD30 a good choice for a variety of markets, including local sports.

On Call will demonstrate both QuickSPOT HD and SD video over satellite at the NAB Show in the Intelsat Outdoor Media booth OE346 under the QuickSPOT stand. The Envivio 4Caster HD30 will also be on display at the Envivio booth SU13205.
