by Jan Harris

Vonaq Ltd has expanded into the IPTV market with the launch of IPTV Test Option for the QuickTest 100 ADSL2+ Tester. The new product is designed to enable engineers and installers to locate and resolve problems with IPTV technology quickly, minimising costs.

The QuickTest 100 ADSL2+ Tester is a low-cost, robust, easy-to-use handheld tester. It can be used in a standalone mode, and also connected to a computer for use as a diagnostic tool using the web interface.

The tester can help engineers identify faults such as incorrect MDF jumpering; no line voltage; incorrectly configured DSLAM ports; poor line rate; poor noise margin and excessive line attenuation.

The device’s IPTV Tester Option, is designed to facilitate the installation, maintenance and commissioning of IPTV services.

Testing directly on the ADSL or Ethernet interface allows problems such as excessive network jitter, packet loss and poor quality of service, to be quickly identified.

The standards supported include ADSL2+, Ethernet, MPEG2, MPEG4, TR 101 290, IGMP Version 2.
