Inlet Technologies appoints EMEA Director of Sales
Inlet Technologies, which provides encoding solutions for new media, has appointed Michael Murphy as its EMEA sales director.
Murphy, who will be based in London, will use his experience in product development, as well as sales and marketing, to help the company take advantage of the growing market for online video.
According to a new report from Jupiter Research, 28% of people in Europe regularly watch online video, an increase of over 100% from 2006.
People also spend 50% longer watching online video than they did a year ago.
Half of all IPTV subscribers across the world are located in Europe, making it an ideal market for the next stage of Inlet’s expansion.
“It is my goal to increase Inlet’s global footprint while helping organizations understand how they can best monetize their online media content,” said Murphy. “We have a lot of exciting system initiatives in transcoding and streaming and I look forward to expanding these opportunities within the growing base of programmers, service providers and content production houses.”
