Velocix, new Management Appointments

Velocix has announced several management appointments aimed at assisting in its intended expansion.

Velocix(tm) who provide Digital Asset Delivery Networks, have made three new senior management placements, to help in controling its core business of delivering games, video, software and music via the Internet.

The company is headquartered in Cambridge, the new executives are Senior Vice President of products, Simon Keen, with John Lee working as Chief Financial Officer, taking on the role of Vice President of Worldwide Sales is Richard Timperlake.

Each of the new players will be reporting directly to Phill Robinson who is CEO of Velocix.

These are the details of the new appointees

Chief Financial Officer, John Lee

John Lee has in excess of 25 years experience, with a background in financial senior management, working for multinational businesses as well as technology operators. Mr Lee has experience with several technology start-up companies, helping to turn them into successful operations and acquiring venture capital to increase shareholder value.

He has moved from Cambridge Semiconductor after working as CFO for the company for 5 years. Prior to that, Mr Lee was CFO for several budding technology companies, that included Sinclair Research and Twyford International.

SVP Products, Simon Keen

Coming from StreamBase Systems where his role was European Technical Director Simon enters the Velocix family with more than 25 years experience of Content Service Provider and advanced software systems work.

Simon is very experienced in technological and operational assessments combined with due diligence for venture capital investors.

Simon also has a background of technical leadership positions at Netscape AssetHouse technologies, Informix, and Cambridge Technology Partners.

His new position will make him responsible for development and design of the complete Velocix range.

VP Worldwide Sales, Richard Timperlake

Mr Timperlake is the third new guy, with again over 25 years in management of technology companies, at Hewlett Packard and Siebel he has gained considerable Senior Management skills.

His last position was at SAS where he was UK Sales Director. While there, Mr Timperlake, oversaw a major sales reorganization, as a result the company experienced 45% growth in revenue taking them too $140m.

The Velocix Network gives broadcasters, content owners and studios the capability to deliver video, audio, software and games via the internet, giving content providers control of reporting and analytics required to manage their libraries through digital distribution.

Velocix was origionaly named CacheLogic. They now provide Digital Asset Delivery Network through a Content Delivery Network (CDN) designed for rich media needs.
