BroadLight releases BL2000 PONMaker 4.0 software
To enable advanced bridging for meeting the high demands of QoS rich, triple-play applications, BroadLight has released its PONMaker 4.0 software for in-service upgrades for BL2000 based Optical Network Terminations (ONTs).
PONMaker 4.0 unleashes the BL2000’s embedded network processor’s capability allowing service providers worldwide to implement new services utilising the various GPON service models with the required performance on its installed base of ONTs.
California-based BroadLight is a leading supplier of GPON semiconductors and software. It delivers the industry’s only end-to-end solution (from the customer premises to the central office) for equipment vendors designing ITU-T compliant passive optical network (PON) systems. BroadLight’s own embedded Runner network processor in the widely used BL2000 series of SoCs, along with PONMaker 4.0, enables its customers to adapt quickly to their customer’s needs.
BroadLight’s PONMaker 4.0 features advanced GPON - Ethernet bridging to address triple-play deployment requirements by the leading telecommunication providers. PONMaker 4.0 supports the various IPTV MAC bridging and IGMP filtering, transparent LAN services (TLS) classification, versatile GPON Encapsulation Mode (GEM) port mapping and traffic management.
It also enables GPON Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) applications with wire-speed connection rates, enhanced Ethernet flow classification with QoS and multicast capabilities and provisioning to facilitate implementations of TR-101 requirements.
BroadLight technology has been adopted by leading manufacturers who are currently providing equipment for some of the world’s largest fiber passive optical network roll-outs.
