Log.tv.to launch Stella Street online
IPTV platform, Log.tv, is to distribute Stella Street, an offbeat BBC TV comedy show about Hollywood and rock stars in a London suburb.
The show features features Phil Cornwell and John Sessions doing multiple impressions of stars, including Michael Caine, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino, who had moved to Surbiton.
Log.tv. will start distributing the show early in 2008. It will feature new material developed by Cornwell, Sessions and director Peter Richardson.
The comedy ran for four series on BBC2, starting in 1997, and was broadcast in 10-minute instalments, plus a feature-length film.
Director, Peter Richardson, decided to re-launch the show on IPTV in order to avoid the constraints of traditional television, which can take years to bring a project to completion. Using IPTV as a medium allows the team to use young, undiscovered talent.
Recently launched Log.tv is a talent broadcasting network and distribution platform. It encourages users to upload content and collaborates with talent to produce entertainment shows that can be shown on IPTV.
