Time Warner Cable Business Class launches IPTV service

by Lin Freestone

Time Warner Cable Business Class has launched an IPTV service for its business customers. Called BusinessLink.tv, the service delivers broadcast news and information channels directly to the computers of customers in select New York and New Jersey markets.

The BusinessLink.tv service delivers video programming to clients via cable modem across the customer’s enterprise LAN over IP multicast connectivity. It requires a 4 Mbps core LAN bandwidth capacity.

The software-based platform runs on existing hardware and standard operating systems, with minimum network resource utilisation and a combined audio and video stream to ensure perfect synchronisation.

The channels offered include NY1 News, CNN, CNN Headline News, CNN International, CNBC, CNBC World, Bloomberg TV, Fox News, Fox Business News and The Weather Channel.

A division of Time Warner Cable, Cable Business Class supports enterprise, government and small to medium-sized businesses in the US with a consultative approach, and is focused exclusively on individual business needs. The company offers data, video and security solutions to provide a full complement of business communications tools in 27 states across the country.
