Streaming21 launches IPTV R&D centre in Singapore

by Lin Freestone

Streaming21, a US-based provider of broadcast-quality streaming solutions, has announced the launch of a new research and development centre for IPTV, mobile TV and digital home solutions in Singapore.

The establishment of the new R&D centre has been welcomed by the Singapore Economic Development Board. The board considers that Streaming21’s presence reinforces the steps which Singapore is taking in media technology-related R&D as part of a larger national effort in the interactive and digital media industry.

Streaming21 has appointed Horng-Juing Lee, co-founder and Vice President of Engineering, as head of the new Singapore R&D centre. He has substantial expertise in the area of distributed multimedia and IPTV core engine development in the US and Asia Pacific.

From its headquarters in California, Streaming21's global presence now spans the US, Taiwan, Japan, China and Singapore. The company's end-to-end IPTV solution has been deployed by tier 1 telcos and IPTV service providers across these markets.

Singapore is renowned for its cutting-edge technology and engineering, in addition to its business-friendly environment. Located at the heart of the Asia market, Singapore is the ideal hub for growing Streaming21's business and services in Asia Pacific.
