Zattoo launches in UK
Zattoo, a TV distribution service, which lets viewers watch real television on a desktop or laptop computer, is launching in the UK with all five UK terrestrial channels.
Zattoo’s media player can be downloaded to a computer from the company’s website, providing access to Bloomberg, Cbeebies and a number of special interest channels, as well as BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
The service is ad funded, with five second ads played to viewers when they switch channels.
A clickable button appears alongside the ads, allowing viewers to visit brand websites.
Zattoo has successfully launched its service in Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Denmark and Norway.
The Zattoo media player is available for computers running Windows XP, Vista, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems.
