Perceptual video quality monitoring solution

by Lin Freestone

At The Cable Show, which is being held in New Orleans, Louisiana from May 18-20, Symmetricom will demonstrate its perceptual video quality monitoring solution for cable operators, the V-Factor Quality of Experience platform.

V-Factor enables the monitoring of key sources of potential video and audio impairments by providing a scalable solution that accurately assesses a consumer’s video quality experience.

Symmetricom will demonstrate its Q-1000 video headend analyzer which digs deep into the actual video content to examine, in real time, the quality and integrity of source video and detect any transcoding or other encoding impairments.

V-Factor combines the Q-1000 video headend analyzer with network probes, software agents, and NOC software, which together provide a complete understanding of video quality services enabling reduced costs through efficient diagnosis and decreased customer churn.

Based in California, Symmetricom has offices worldwide.
